The price of a Pilates class varies a lot from one studio to the next. Three things drive most of it: whether the class is on the mat or on a reformer, how many people are in the room, and whether it is a group or a private session.

Single-class prices at US studios

Prices read on each studio’s website on September 25, 2026. A dash means the studio does not sell that format as a single class.

Single Pilates class: prices published by US studios
Studio (city)Group matGroup reformerPrivate session
MOVE Studios (Denver, CO)$20$29$90
Love for Pilates (Los Angeles, CA)—$29—
Pilates Denver (Greenwood Village, CO)$30—$95
Steele Pilates (Brooklyn, NY)$35$55On request
Pilates Reforming NY (New York, NY)—$45$120
BK Pilates (New York, NY)—$49$160

In these examples group reformer runs $29–55, mat $20–35 and private sessions $90–160. The New York studios charge the most for reformer; the lowest reformer prices in this sample are in Denver and Los Angeles.

Price sources

Why reformer costs more

  • Equipment: every student uses a machine the studio has to buy, maintain and find floor space for.
  • Smaller groups: reformer classes often cap at a handful of people, while mat classes take more. The instructor’s time is split across fewer people.
  • More hands-on coaching: with springs and a moving carriage, the instructor watches each student more closely.

How to pay less

  • Class packs: almost every studio lowers the per-class price when you buy 5, 10 or 20 classes. It only pays off if you will actually go.
  • Intro offers: many studios discount the first class for new clients.
  • Mat before reformer: if you are starting out, mat classes cost less and teach the fundamentals.
  • Drop-in: if you train a few times a month or travel, paying per class avoids a membership you would not use.

What to compare before you book

  • Class length (50 or 60 minutes) and the maximum number of people.
  • The instructor’s training and the class level.
  • Cancellation rules and when class packs expire.
  • Annual registration fees, which some studios add on top.
